End of Year News

We have had a very busy final couple of weeks of the 2021 school year. Student Achievement Report packages were sent home at the end of last week to allow for parents and teachers to meet.

We had very a very successful PP-6 Presentation Night and year 7-11 Presentation Assembly. Congratulations to all award recipients. Thank you so much to all those who generously donated awards. A big thank you to Mrs Davey, Mrs Downes, Mrs Evans, Mrs Hodder and the 2021 Student Councillors for organising and hosting the events. Thank you to our wonderful staff and of course all of our amazing students.

It is with fondness that we say farewell to departing students and families and wish them all the very best in the future. We have a number of staff leaving us including: Mrs Chris Sweetman who is retiring, Mr James who will be working at Southern River College, Mrs Robyn Sweetman and Mrs Reynolds who will be away for 2022, Mrs Wynne, Ms McFarlane, Ms Lucas, Mrs McDermott, Mrs Baxter and Mrs McGuiness. On behalf of our school community I sincerely thank them. I also welcome Mr Ross Annen who will be taking over from Mr James in 2022.

This week many of our students achieved Good Standing and were involved in special end of year reward activities or excursions. Here are some photos of the fun that was had.

Nhargo were the winners of the 2021 Coote Cup and Irwin were the recipients of the 2021 Team Spirt Award. Congratulations to Nhargo and Irwin students and staff.

On behalf of the Dongara DHS community I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you at the start of the 2022 school year.

Kind Regards

Janine Calver
